Auto-Edit for PC

The Auto-Edit you know, as a native Windows app

The same beat-locked cutting, transitions and effects as the web editor, rendered on your graphics card with hardware video decoding and export. Long, high-resolution projects stay smooth.

Windows 10/11 • 64-bit• v0.1.0

Windows 10/11 only for now. You can download it here and run it on a PC.

If Windows SmartScreen shows a warning, click "More info" and then "Run anyway". The installer is not code-signed yet.

Why the desktop app

GPU rendering

Every transition, effect and colour grade runs as a shader on your graphics card instead of a browser canvas.

Hardware decode and export

Video is decoded and encoded by your GPU, so previews keep up and exports finish faster, with no source limit.

Your projects open as-is

A .vaedit project exported from the web editor opens in the desktop app and cuts on exactly the same kicks.

System requirements

  • Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit
  • A graphics card with OpenGL 4.3 support (any GPU from the last ten years)
  • About 300 MB of free disk space, plus room for your media and exports

Questions

The installer is not code-signed yet, so SmartScreen does not know it. Click "More info" and then "Run anyway". Only download it from this page.

In the web Auto-Edit, use Export and choose a portable package. Open that file in the desktop app with File > Open.

Not yet. The desktop app is Windows-only for now; on a Mac, keep using Auto-Edit in the browser.

Download the latest installer from this page and run it. It upgrades the installed version in place and keeps your settings.
